‘Like many people, sometimes my personal experiences can be really useful in raising awareness and underpinning direct action such as much needed government policy change which is, I am happy to say what happened in this case in May 2022. I was invited to share my story to highlight the needs of women who are in ‘medical menopause’, many women like me are put into medical menopause following essential and life changing surgery to lower other medical risks, in my case to lower my cancer risk as a BRCA2 positive gene carrier.’
