Consultancy for families
Sometimes you have to live it to understand it. ❤️
Are you a parent of a neurodivergent child who would like support to navigate a particular challenge in your journey as a family? Are you coming to terms with your own late diagnosis as a parent simultaneously?
Perhaps you are experiencing difficulties in the education system that you need support to overcome. Or you would like to bring more harmony to the home environment, gaining help with your parenting style, communication with your child or routine setting, for example. Perhaps you are beginning a home education journey or EOTAS (education other than at school). Or perhaps your child is going through the process of getting a diagnosis and you need support to navigate and come to terms with this new world you find yourself in.
Having been through all of this myself personally and supported others professionally in my consultancy with families, I can work to support you to navigate this period and what for many can feel like new unfamiliar territory at first. I work in a warm and understanding yet boundaried way, to help as much as I can within my role to empower, support, advocate, educate and enable you to move forward positively.
I know the education and life journey for children can be wonderful, amazing, and magical, and for some, at times, it can also feel frustrating, pressured, exhausting, overwhelming and confusing. As neurodivergent families we can often feel legitimately misunderstood and isolated. It would be my pleasure to help you on your journey to a more harmonious place.
I have first-hand lived and professional experience as an early years’ educator, multi-award-winning Ofsted-registered education setting founder/director and SENDCO (at my own setting). I am also a neurodivergent parent myself to a neurodivergent child who is home educated. I have in-depth personal and professional UK experience of the following:
- Diagnostic referral process (both NHS and private): Autism; SPC (sensory processing conditions); ADHD (attention deficit hyperactivity disorder/condition); PDA (pervasive drive for autonomy/pathological demand avoidance) symptomology; situational mutism; auditory processing disorder; anxiety; school trauma; Ehlers Danlos syndrome; and other neurodivergent crossover conditions
- EHCP (education & health care plan) process
- EOTAS (education other than at school) process
- SEND (special educational needs and disabilities) tribunal process (educational/disability/SEND rights)
- Schools tribunal process for unresolved complaints on behalf of neurodiverse/disabled children
- Home schooling on account of support needs
My working style is
Supportive and non-judgemental.
Empowering and strengths based.
Transparent and approachable.
Honest and authentic.
